Q & A
With the ‘Cats - Get to Know Chad Linnerooth
Year:
Sophomore
Home Town:
Carnation, WA
Major/Minor:
Exercise Science/ Business
Why did you
come to Linfield?
The xc/track
coaches and team. The small class size and low professor to student ratio that
makes succeeding easy. Also, the
sense of school pride is higher than what I thought of the other schools I
visited. Go Cats!
What is your
fondest memory thus far from your time at Linfield?
Winning my
first college race at George Fox in the 1500m on the second time I raced that
distance.
What is it
that you enjoy most about cross country?
Doing
workouts with all the guys on the team. In track I have to split off and run in
a much smaller group with the middle distance crew.
Who is your
athletic hero/role-model?
The King of
the Mile: Hicham El Guerrouj.
Do you
crinkle your race bib number or leave it smooth?
I take it
how it is.
What’s your
most embarrassing athletic moment?
When I was
much younger I gathered up a ground ball, during probably a Tee-ball game, ran
over to first base, dropped the ball on the plate, and then jogged to the
dugout. And that’s when I realized I wasn’t a baseball player.
What is your
favorite movie?
300.
It teaches me many lessons about running. You have to go into battles/races wanting
to die, embracing pain, and fighting/running as a close phalanx/team in order
to succeed. To be the best at what you do you have to make it your life. You
are a warrior/runner 24/7 for your whole life.
What song is
most played on your iPod?
No Interruption by Hoodie Allen
What is your
homepage on your computer?
What words
of wisdom would you offer to a college-bound high school senior?
When
entering College don’t stick to just your teammates or old friends. Join a
club, hang out with kids from your halls, and make a million friends!
